How to Make Google Reader Shared Items Work for You

My friend and the New Media Cincinnati co-founder, Daniel Johnson Jr. left a great comment asking me how I was able to export my list of tweets that have links to a weekly twitter post.
In a nutshell, its just automating something I already do, share TONS of interesting posts using google reader by pushing those links into a blog post!
You too can create a Great link post on your blog just follow my handy “how to” below:
Here are four easy steps to take your shared items to the next level:
- Create a unique twitter account that is different from your primary account.
- Set up a twitterfeed for your new twitter account by linking it to your google reader shared items feed. This is how I created a twitter link blog.
- Make sure you blog using wordpress. Then download and install Alex (the wordpress plugin) King’s Twitter Tools wordpress plugin.
- Set the plugin to use your new shared items twitter account and to create a weekly digest of links shared on google reader!
